Chirashi Zushi
Made this a couple of weeks ago and have been making it quite often ever since...it's so yum and so easy...and a good way of using up my dried baby sardines....heee...i have done it with seafood, teriyaki chicken and teriyaki pork...yummmmmmmm.....
If using seafood, cook in boiling salted water. Same goes for veg. I like my meat marinated in teriyaki sauce, so just marinate the sliced meat in teriyaki seasoning(store bought of course..hee) until ready to use, then pan fry and leave aside.
Other Ingredients:
Egg, beaten, fried and cut into strands
Nori seaweed, cut into strands
3 cups of sushi rice, cook as per instructions
dried baby sardines, washed and drained (i use a handful but anything is fine)
2 tbsp teriyaki sauce, optional (do like the color and the extra flavor)
1/2 cup sushi rice vinegar
2 tbsp sugar
salt to taste
1. Fry the sardines, teriyaki sauce, vinegar, sugar and salt together.
2. Allow to cool.
3. Mix the sardines with the cooked sushi rice.
4. ALL DONE!!! What's left is just arranging the food to make it look PREEEEEEETTY!!
